Savision goes mobile. Introducing ‘Live Maps for Mobile’ for both Android and iOS
We are pleased to announce that we can now offer our customers a true mobile experience. This is not just a website that doesn’t really work or can’t tell you what is happening when you have your phone in your jacket pocket but is offering you an even better grasp on what makes your environment tick, or not tick.
Once you’ve downloaded the app you can start using it right of the bat with any of your current Live Maps. This isn’t a special new view or dashboard that you have to create. Just load up the app, point it to your Live Maps web console and pick any Live Map you want.
Live Maps on the go. Live Maps for Mobile allows you to monitor your high-level processes with ease. Notice that your e-mail isn’t working properly? Quickly pop into the app and see if anything is awry. Do you have an important demo in 4 minutes and are worried that something might not be working? Pop in to our app to ease your mind.
We send you Notifications when something happens to your environment. Did one of the maps you’re monitoring change its state? We’ll send you a notification. And even better than Operations Manager’s behavior, we’ll send you a notification on any state change regardless of whether or not an alert was generated.
Understand at a glance. Because you want to grasp what is going on in your environment without too much hassle, we’ve made it super easy for you to see what is happening within our app. The Live Maps that you monitor are sorted by state – so you can just tap and glance during your important meeting to see if something is happening.
Mini Release FAQ
- When will the mobile app be available?
It’s available right this minute. Search for “Live Maps for Mobile” in either the Google Play or iTunes Apps stores. Or click the buttons below.
- Windows Phone?
We’re pleased to see there is such a high demand for a Windows Phone application and a release will be forthcoming.
- I’m not getting any notifications, help!
We send notifications on state change, but you will have to install the “Live Maps Mobile Device Notification Service” in your SCOM environment. If you’re still not receiving any notifications, please contact support for further help.
- Wow! You guys send a notification at the exact moment there is a state change?
Well, not exactly. That would require a constant connection to your SCOM server, which nobody wants or should do. Every 5 minutes the Mobile Device Notification Service checks the maps you want to monitor. If it sees a change, boom. Notification on its way.
So what are you still waiting for? Go to the app store and start monitoring! We value any feedback our customers can give us. If you find something that bugs you or is missing, tell us at email@example.com.
